You will be instrumental to setting organisational direction and priorities and measuring progress against these. We’re looking for someone who can offer a balance of a strategic outlook and an assured focus on operational delivery.

You’ll should be able to foster positive relationships across the organisation, building trust and confidence quickly, enabling you to advise, influence and challenge others.
You will model a positive working culture, promoting a sense of shared ownership and accountability, and celebrating success. By providing impartial advice and guidance to all elected members, you will support the development of effective strategies, that can deliver our objectives and positive outcomes for the borough’s residents.
The postholder will also act as the Returning Officer for all elections.
We expect that you will already have extensive senior experience within a local authority setting and that you are accustomed to operating within a political setting. You will have a pragmatic understanding of the need to balance service aspirations with sound financial controls and budgeting. And you should be experienced in partnership working, enabling you to bring a system-wide perspective to place-shaping initiatives, harnessing the expertise of the public and private sectors.
